Some items listed here were developed under specific school guidelines for SCAD. All of the code/scripting/markup/css I created. Each link will open a new window. Thank you for looking.

All programming/code elements are considered to be open-source under the Creative-Commons license and can be used freely to learn from, but not for monetary gain. Please do not earn revenue from this work.

Design Projects

Elements located within this "Design Projects" section were assignments from my current MFA program. The pdf files are pitch boards for particular problems/tasks assigned by the professor. Also containd here are a few gaming specific elelments, including a level design walkthrough video and a 63 page game Design Document on an original IP.

• Fighting Rings

  Pitch Board - ESPN is looking to create a weekly boxing series an this board was a pitch concept for the opening sequence. I proposed that the series would be a 1-hour focus on various amature boxers from around the globe. Each week the show would spotlight 2 boxers in their city of origin and follow them as they train in the 2 weeks preceeding the fight, ala HBO's 24/7 with Hockey, until the actual live broadcast of the fight.

• Arte

  Pitch Board - Network ID spot for the European station "Arte" Similar to a PBS her ein the US, the France/Germany based station is focused on culture, art and society. This board was a network ident to capture the feeling of the artistic and cultural side of the station.

• Converse "Chuck Taylor"

  Pitch Board - Advertising campaign / TV Commercial geared toward adolescent girls. The assignment was to create a spot for a shoe company that would target females ages 14-25. I chose Converse and decided to advertise their web sites's ability to customize the famous Chuck Taylor Canvas High Top shoe. "Color Your Sole" was the pitch line I coined for this campaign.

• Film Society at Lincoln Center

  Pitch Board - Advertising campaign / TV Commercial to showcase the upcoming 51st annual NY film festival hosted by the FSLC in NYC. The Lincoln Center hosts the event on a yearly basis, and this was to be a television spot to advertise the event. Focusing on the size of the city as a comparrison to the size of the film festival, this spot highlights the key numbers of the festival; number of films, venues, hours etc. I chose a cool blue to offset the LC orange logo an to set the tone/feeling of the "night life" within the burroghs.

• "Cavern"

  Level Design image deck - This pdf is simply a series of stills from the 3d environment walkthrough I developed within 3DS Max and the UDK game engine. The video below is a "walkthrough" of this same environment showing hte movers, lighting/particle effects and scenery.

• "D. Journey of the Hunted"

  Interface Design - Pdf slide deck of the key interface components for the Original IP "D. Journey of the Hunted". The full game design document is located below.

  Original IP Game Design Document - "You are Dragon — Born of fire." The basis of this original IP is that you are a Dragon. You must learn to use natural abilities in flight, claw, bite, breath attacks and spells as a young wyrmling in order to survive. As the game continues you grow in size an pass through key life stages and become an ancient elder dragon, feared by humans and known throughout the world. Eventually you challenge the other elder dragons to become the oldest and most powerful dragon alive.

• "D. Journey of the Hunted"

  Original IP Game Design Document - "You are Dragon — Born of fire." The basis of this original IP is that you are a Dragon. PHP Projects

• Zodiac Form (PHP)

  This is a PHP generated form that will take in user input and generate their eastern and western zodiac output, along with their birthstone information.

• Comment board with Image upload (PHP)

  This form is an example of a comment board allowing users to add comments to the page, as well as upload an image for their "avatar".

• "Ester" email scheduling platform (PHP)

  "ESTER" is a PHP/MySql database tool to keep track of a propossed email schedule. Users can edit some of the requirements to the email to be generated, as well as edit the send dates and information. Admin users can add new users and edit/add/delete records to the database. Flash & AS2/AS3 Projects

• "Pirate's Challenge"

  This is an edu-tainment title geared towards kindergarten and first graders. This proof of concept does not have final creative implemented, but the logic and structure of the game is intact. The full version was projected to have many more questions, in a variety of formats. This quick example is just a run through of the "game" at a fast pace to see the entire process work.

• "Beat the clock game"

  This is a PHP generated form that will take in user input and generate their eastern and western zodiac output, along with their birthstone information.

• Jethro Tull Themed mp3 player

  Working with loading mp3 files from an xml data sheet. Users can skip tracks, control volume, rewind tracks and play or pause tracks.

• "Space Attack" Shooter game

  This is a flash game that I created as a "retro throwback" to the days of arcade classics. (Updated 1-4-14) I have recently discovered that there are a few bugs in my AS3 code that cause the file to lock-up when sounds are initialized, so I have disabled the sounds for now.

Scripted tools

Elements located within this "scripted tools" section were generated as scripts to help automate or expedite repetetive tasks during the production process at Garnet Hill. Some of these tools are beta examples that are still being developed. Most of them have quirky acronym "names" for no particular reason other to have a little fun while at work. Enjoy.

• "DEBIE"

  [ver. 1.01] Dynamic Email Builder Incorporating Espots - This form pulls in data from the user and the live web site to generate blocks of code for an email campaign. Users can point to any image used as a "hero" on the web site with the absolute path, as well as incorporate specific fine print and espots from the web site using only the product id #

• "DEBIE 2.0"

  [BETA] Dynamic Email Builder Incorporating Espots - Expanding on the idea implemented in 1.0, this new version is a major update and allows for fully customized layouts.

• "ELIJA"

  [ver. 2.5] Efficient Lightboxes: Intimates and Jewelry Automation. - This is a PHP generated form that will take in user input and generate their eastern and western zodiac output, along with their birthstone information.

• "ESTER"

• "GarE"

  [ver 3.5] Generate All Required Emails - (code listing only) GarE is a bookmarklet javascript that runs on a Photoshop generated "save for web" html page. The basis of this script is to take a Photoshop generated image-based email and process three different outputs: HTML, Rich text and plain text. The output given takes into consideration special characters that need to be encoded for subject lines and fine print for use in an html based email, as well as the formatting needed for a plain text vs rich text layout.
