After creating a rough sketch and scanning the image, I usedg a stylus and a wacom tablet and various brushes and ink options in Painter. The airbrush tool added a lot of deph to the eye with it's fine nozzle settings while the scales were helped along with the triangle shaped ink tip. Overall I was very pleased with the outcome of this piece.
